Extractor for LP360 Released with LP360 v1.7
spacer (1K)
QCoherent Software is pleased to announce the release of a new LP360 module, Extractor.  Extractor is now available with the latest LP360 and Classify release, 1.7.  In addition to Extractor, LP360 1.7 incorporates new and unprecedented flexibility with the inclusion of LP360 Standalone.  LP360 users now have the option of manipulating LiDAR in both LP360 for ArcGIS and LP360 Standalone. Both versions of LP360 are included in all LP360 installations.

LP360 version 1.7 includes a revamped breakline collection tool suite and a powerful Point Cloud Task framework. The Point Cloud Task framework is a new user friendly interface for generating point cloud statistics, executing basic classification filters, height from surface filters, height filters, and macro filter stacks. With Extractor, the executable Point Cloud Tasks are extended to include building point classification and building outline generation. The LP360 Point Cloud Task interface incorporates a unique "preview window" where parameters and operational results can be manipulated and analyzed prior to wide-scale deployment.

LP360 Version 1.7 and Extractor continue the tradition of the Limitless LiDAR architecture, allowing virtually unlimited amounts of LiDAR to be loaded and processed and does not require a 64 bit operating system.  A FREE evaluation of LP360 (LP360 for ArcGIS, LP360 Standalone, Classify and Extractor previews) is available at QCoherent.com

LiDAR Server
spacer (1K)
Are you looking for a way to provide your LiDAR data to a diverse set of users?  Would you like to include LiDAR data with your other web mapping offerings? Our new product, LiDAR Server, can help you do just that.  LiDAR Server takes the core high-performance LiDAR software libraries of LP360 to the web mapping world.

LiDAR Server is an OGC-compliant web mapping service, but developed specifically with LiDAR in mind. With LiDAR Server you can visualize and analyze LiDAR in any web-mapping client, including Google Earth. For a limited time, QCoherent is offering installation and customization services with LiDAR Server.  If you would like to know more about LiDAR Server there are sample projects and more detailed information available at LiDARServer.com.

Win an Apple Nano -  Enter the LP360 Contest
spacer (1K)
Do you have a good LP360/LiDAR story? We recently talked with several LP360 users and were impressed with the unique applications that have resulted from being able to leverage LiDAR in LP360.  We are always interested in how our customers are using LP360 so we thought it would be interesting to have a contest to encourage you to tell us your success stories.

Simply send to us an email at (info@qcoherent.com) with a paragraph or two describing how you have used LiDAR in LP360 (screen shots encouraged).  QCoherent Staff will review submittals, and at their sole discretion, select a winner.  The winner will receive an Apple Nano.  Entry closes 12/31/2009.

In case you missed it, ASPRS formally approved LAS version 1.3.  The full LAS spec can be found Here. We'd like to hear if you are planning to employ the LAS 1.3 format, including the new waveform storage capabilities.  Let us know what you think, your feedback will help define our LAS 1.3 support that you can expect in our next LP360 release.

Training
spacer (1K)
QCoherent is evaluating how we might offer new training services (online, on-site, off-site).  If you are interested in training, please let us know at info@QCoherent.com.  We are considering offering a training course in Denver preceding the 2010 ILMF conference.  Let us know if this is of interest to you.

Coming online soon will be a training manual/document.  We are making the finishing touches on this and hope to have this on our website in the very near future.  Currently the manual is ~275 pages and has 8 exercises with data!
